OneStop General Information

The Midlands OneStop System for employment and training services is a new concept that was created by the Workforce Investment Act. The goal is to help job seekers and employers find each other in "one stop", rather than have them travel from one agency to the next, trying to get the help they want and need.

The Midlands Workforce Investment Area is comprised of Richland, Lexington and Fairfield Counties. Each county in the Midlands OneStop System has a Workforce Center (OneStop) located within what the Columbia, Lexington and Winnsboro Employment Securities Commission Local Offices.

The Columbia OneStop is the area's comprehensive center. As a comprehensive center, it houses eighteen (18) agencies under one roof to allow customers easy access and a wide array of services from job listings and educational opportunities to social service support. The OneStop is more than a place that offers information. It is a partnership of caring agencies, joined together to form a strong support system that actively assists each customer in finding the ideal job.

The Lexington and Winnsboro OneStop are satellite centers. Therefore, they do not have all partners available at all times, but will make arrangements to schedule these services on an
as-needed basis.

In addition to using this website to learn more about the services provided by the partner agencies of the OneStop, walk-in customers are always welcomed (refer to the hours of operation below for each Center).

How can individuals access the Midlands Workforce System?

Interested individuals may visit any of the Midlands Workforce Centers listed below to find out more about the program or to see if they may qualify for these or any other services. These facilities comprise a network of OneStop Centers where customers may access a variety of information and services through direct assistance from OneStop staff, by interacting with multiple on-site partner agency representatives or by performing self-directed activities in one of our high-tech resource rooms.
