WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM COORDINATOR, CENTRAL MIDLANDS COG, COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA

Central Midlands Council of Governments (CMCOG) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Workforce Development Program Coordinator.

POSITION SUMMARY:      Provides technical support to and oversight of front-line contract staff for the Trade program in the areas of: customer enrollment levels, data entry, Federal Regulations and State guidance and policy interpretation.  Provides updates and advice to the Director regarding the Trade program in preparation of the following: MWIA’s five year plan of service and modification of the five year plan; all solicitations for acquisition of service providers; all budgets for the area and sub-recipient program budgets; meetings of the Midlands Workforce Development Board (MWDB) and WIA Board committees; operational policies and procedures.  Performs desktop and on-site monitoring for program compliance and performance and prepares reports for review of Director and presentation to MWDB.  Identifies need for and organizes contractor training sessions and conducts training in conjunction with other MWIA staff.  Position Informs the WIA Director and Workforce Board through consultation and reports on the progress of project design, then implementation from initiation of planning through changes as needed to the plan through project completion. Develops strategies and action plans for implementation of department initiatives and implements or oversees implementation of plans on project by project basis.
